CSR Definition: Give me a definition of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)? What is CSR?
Mallen Baker who is a Director of Business in the Community as well as being a writer on business ethics provides this definition: “CSR is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society.”
I believe that CSR and Good Business are mutually inclusive activities

Why is it important to have a positive impact on society?  Like many parents, I am genuinely concerned about the future of the planet and want my children to enjoy a safe, healthy, interesting and happy life. I value the natural environment for its ability to re-charge my batteries and the richness and diversity it offers me yet I worry about the constant battle to conserve the green spaces which I enjoy and the many which I have not yet experienced. As a businessman, I can see that making a profit and having a positive impact on society and the environment need not be mutually exclusive objectives. My company AI Digital is living proof that you can practice great CSR (AI won the BITC Small Company of the Year award in 2007) and be a business success (AI achieved 34th place on the Deloitte TechTrack 50 in 2007 growing 1208% in the last 5 years).
I am convinced that practicing CSR is more than a responsibility, it actually makes great business sense.
